Seminar on Philosophy "Ángel González Álvarez"

The “Ángel González Álvarez” Seminar on Thought offers an opportunity for academic exchange and dialogue among professors and researchers from across Spain and the international community.

Cuadernos de Pensamiento it is the scientific journal of the Seminar, published annually since 1987, with the aim of promoting dialogue. Renowned authors such as Julián Marías, Alfonso López Quintás, Joseph Seifert, Alejandro Llano, and Rafael Alvira, among others, have contributed to its pages. The journal is indexed in prestigious databases such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Redalyc.

Since 1970, the Seminar has promoted numerous research projects that have led to monographic courses and specialized seminars in philosophical anthropology, social sciences, and the humanities in general. It also reaches a broader audience through activities aimed at disseminating thought. The results of the research are published regularly in the monograph collection of the Fundación Universitaria Española publishing house, and since 2023, in the new “Pensamiento” Series. In recent years, the following titles have been published: Pensar la mujer.

In addition, the Seminar on Thought has awarded research grants for the completion of doctoral dissertations, which have been published in the  Tesis doctorales Cum Laude Series, among others.

"Pensamiento" Series

It was created with the aim of presenting readers with the results of current research in the philosophical and humanistic fields. It seeks to offer the opportunity to access unpublished works that provide keys for reflection on our present, that explore the causes of the current crisis, and that engage in dialogue with the great masters of the Western tradition, from an interdisciplinary and integrative perspective.
